My Personal Healing Journey and How It Grew Into Skinship Esthetics Spa

Before Skinship Esthetics Spa ever existed, there was a chapter of my life filled with survival, uncertainty, and a deep need for healing. For years, I thought that working harder would eventually lead me to stability and freedom. I devoted over a decade to the healthcare industry, balancing long hours, raising my daughter, and moving through heartbreak, loss, and responsibilities that often left no room for myself.

During that time, life shifted in ways I never expected. I was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease caused by a pituitary tumor—an experience that led to brain surgery and a long recovery. I suffered personal losses, and my mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Suddenly, I was forced to confront the truth that time is precious, health is fragile, and I needed to redesign my life with intention.

It was in these quiet, difficult moments that I realized something:
I wanted to create a life where healing wasn’t rushed, ignored, or postponed. I wanted to create the kind of space I desperately needed myself.

Growing up, I always loved skincare. I worked as a manicurist for eight years and remembered the joy of being surrounded by women—the conversations, the support, the genuine connection. I once dreamed of becoming an esthetician, but I was told I needed a “safe” career with insurance and stability. Ironically, after years in healthcare, I realized I could build that stability on my own terms—and help others find it too.

Skinship Esthetics Spa was born from that realization.

My healing journey taught me that wellness isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling seen, supported, and nourished from the inside out. At Skinship, every treatment is rooted in that belief. My mission is to create a space where clients can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. A space where beauty and emotional wellbeing are intertwined.

This journey also shaped how I envision my future team: I want to build a workplace where estheticians and beauty professionals feel supported not just creatively, but personally—through work-life balance, financial empowerment, and eventually access to things like health insurance and retirement planning. I want others in this field to have the stability I fought so hard to create.

Opening Skinship in July was only the beginning. It represents resilience, gratitude, and the choice to build something meaningful after life demanded that I rebuild myself.

My hope is that everyone who walks through my doors—whether for a facial, a reset, or simply a quiet moment—feels the same healing energy that inspired this entire journey.

Because Skinship isn’t just a spa.
It’s a reflection of my story, my growth, and the belief that we all deserve to feel cared for—inside and out.
